Jelmer’s career spans private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, and international negotiations across multiple continents. His role as an investment manager in China honed his skills in complex deal-making in emerging markets, while co-founding the Philippines' largest coliving company fueled his entrepreneurial drive until its acquisition by SM Investments Corp. As a Co-founder and Managing Partner, Jelmer’s diverse experience has been key in establishing Foxmont as one of the most active investors in Southeast Asia.


Education and Inspiration

Jelmer’s academic background in International Business from Erasmus University and Master in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University highlight his broad curiosity. So does his professional experience at Lehman Brothers and McKinsey & Company. Jelmer has shared his knowledge as a visiting lecturer and instructor at institutions such as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Harvard Law School.


Passions Beyond Business

Also a licensed pilot and a former track athlete, Jelmer exemplifies how diverse experience can enrich business acumen. His appreciation for arts and culture led him to empower young Filipino artists as Director of Pineapple Lab and the Manila Fringe Festival. He also produced "Hûgo," a documentary that explores cultural misconceptions that has earned accolades at international film festivals.
